The mission of the OpenFabrics Alliance (OFA) is to develop, distribute and promote a unified, transport-independent, open-source software stack for RDMA-capable fabrics and networks, including InfiniBand and Ethernet.  The software stack is developed for many hardware architectures and operating systems, including Linux and Windows. Upper-level protocols in the stack support IP, NAS, SAN, sockets, clustered file systems and database application environments.  OFA also manages interoperability testing of the software stack across many vendor platforms and product types.  OFA software is used worldwide in corporate data centers, high-performance computing facilities, research institutes, and industries as diverse as bioinformatics, electronic design, engineering, entertainment & media, financial services and oil & gas.
Latest OpenFabrics Software Stacks for Linux and Windows

The OpenFabrics software stacks are designed to support server and storage clustering and grid connectivity using RDMA-based InfiniBand and iWARP fabrics.  The open-source software is optimized for performance (i.e., high throughput, low latency) using RDMA and transport-offload technologies available in adapter hardware.

IBTA Technical Forum ‘08 

OFA is co-sponsoring the IBTA Technical Forum on September 15 in Las Vegas.  The event will include a discussion about the IBTA’s roadmap as well as presentations from end users about InfiniBand deployments in virtualization and database environments.  For additional information or to register for the event, please visit infinibandta.org.
