Fabric Software Development Platform (FSDP) Launch & Educational Webinar Series

/ / Consortium News

The OpenFabrics Alliance (OFA) is excited to announce the launch of our highly anticipated Fabric Software Development Platform (FSDP) project. The FSDP is a vendor-neutral matrix test cluster owned and maintained by the OFA for the benefit of its members to develop, test, and validate new and existing network technologies. FSDP offers OFA members an opportunity for serious cost reduction in testing, validation, and development, and provides an invaluable service to open source community maintainers as they support open source networking software integration.

The FSDP is intended to cover a large breadth of hardware in a few machines so that software can be validated for functionality and compatibility with a variety of fabric types, including InfiniBand, Omni-Path Architecture, RoCE, and iWARP.  It contains host adapter cards from multiple vendors so that cross vendor compatibility can also be tested.

The FSDP cluster has a git repository for documentation: github.com/OpenFabrics/fsdp_docs. Present in this repo is an account request form with instructions for submitting the request.  Accounts are available for OFA member company’s employees and free individual accounts for upstream contributors.

The FSDP has passed Phase I completion (the initial build out of the cluster) and is now entering Phase II, building out a CI infrastructure in the FSDP cluster. Once complete, the OFA will be offering CI services to upstream projects that have use of testing on the specific hardware present in the cluster.

To help the OFA Community prepare to use the FSDP, the OFA will offer a three-part webinar series starting the second week of January 2022. Details on the webinars, including dates/times, topics to be covered, and registration information can be found below.
